Farmers Cargo pass port is an innovative and unique identification document of the history of the spices from its cultivation to the delivery of the final product. It gives the complete traceability of the product including its village of origin, identification of the farmer who cultivated, manures used, DNA etc. Generally morphological identification such as shape, size, color, texture, fracture characteristics, odor and taste are used for discrimination of botanicals. This method though successful is highly subjective and in the fast developing and highly competitive international market, DNA typing - the scientific identification method followed by Farmers cargo is highly appreciated. We are using DNA finger printing technique to recognize the true-to-type spices. The buyer is completely convinced and really confident of getting absolutely genuine produce since Farmers Cargo is able to check the DNA component in the tissue of any part of the plant and the parent seed, and detect quality. Thanks to this initiative, buyers would be wary of buying low-quality spices.
