Farmers Cargo has farm lands in different states to make sure of the uninterrupted supply of the genuinely produced spices. We are committed to sourcing genuine hill produce through our stores across the state. With the arrival of the supermarket, the ‘long food chain’ was developed and farmers became more and more removed from the end user along with the freshness of the farm produce and farm profits started to decline. Many farmers started to ask if there was another way of developing the market and as a result the ‘short food chain’ is developing and evolving and Farmers Cargo is the answer to this seemingly unviable proposal. Farmers Cargo philosophy of supplying their customers with fresh produce, having relationships with the grower behind the produce and passing that knowledge on and into the kitchen, is of great value.
Only by caring for Farmers and ensuring that they sustain themselves properly, can we expect to have real farmers around for generations to come. The thought of food naturally imbibe the thought of the farm, farmers and their families. As companies push harder and harder to achieve a more effective way of generating revenue, the farmers have to literally squeeze the life out of themselves. The other option is to let “the industry” continue promoting a system of food devoid of quality and nutrition. Social sustainability and, more importantly, “responsibility” is not a feel good system.
